Wonderful writing

Here are three writers whose work is SOOOOOO amazing, we had to show Miss Stannard!  Luke has written a stunning, and very dramatic, story about a 'casual' caterpillar using very grown-up vocabulary (Luke, not the caterpillar!).  Amelia has chosen loads of super adjectives to describe her curly snail, listening for the sounds in the words she wanted to write.  Daisy has shown how much she has learned this year by writing a fantastic sentence for her report, writing lots of the sounds she could hear.  We are very proud of them and they are very proud of themselves.  Well done cleverclogses!

Lovely ladybird

Caitlin tells me that Saule is a fabulous artist and your can see why when you look at Saule's wonderful ladybird painting.  She has also listened carefully for the sounds she needs to write a caption for her picture.  Great work, missus!

Adjectives galore!

Woodpeckers have been learning all about mini-beasts and finding some amazing adjectives to describe them.  We are especially impressed by the way Zane, Jake and Caitlin listened carefully for the sounds they wanted to write.  Well done, folks!

Delightful descriptions!

Here are two young ladies who have written a huge description of their chosen minibeast, listening carefully for all the phonemes in the amazing adjectives they chose to write.  Ebony and Caitlin's writing described their insects perfectly - well done both of them!

Adjectival phrases!

Are you absolutely sure you are in Year 1, Brandon?  The adjectives and adjectival phrases you have chosen to describe your dragonfly have impressed everyone in school, and we are sure that anyone who can use hyphens like you do should be in Year 6 at least!  Fabulous work, brainbox!

Beautiful manners

What a polite young lady we have here!  Not only was Mrs Davis very pleased that Florence listened so carefully and learned so much during Safety Week, she was very impressed with the way she put her hand up every time she wanted to share her ideas about keeping ourselves safe.  You are an example to us all, Florence!

How does your garden grow?

Look at these amazing seed packets that Reuben, Luke and Summer have designed!  They have even written some labels and instructions for growing the plants.  I really hope my garden looks as beautiful as these this summer.  Great writing, folks!

London landmarks

Lester is very proud of his pictures of London landmarks.  He looked at pictures on the internet and very sensibly chose some that he thought might be easier to draw.  He can tell you a lot of interesting facts that he has learned, too!  Well done, genius!

Super sentences

Molly and Kaitlyn have been listening really carefully for all the sounds in the words they wanted to write to describe the animals they have been learning about.  They have both included an adjective as well!  What superstars!

Impressive Opera House

Woodpeckers have been travelling around the world and learning about different countries.  While they were visiting Australia, they looked at the Sydney Opera House.  Ebony has drawn this beautiful picture and chosen some lovely adjectives to describe the building.  What a clever lady!

All aboard (except the tiger!)

Harry has enjoyed learning about India and listening to stories about the country and its animals.  This beautiful picture shows a very naughty tiger jumping on top of a train, and Harry has written some words to explain what is happening.  What a superstar!

Super sari!

There were two parts to Emily's Special Achiever's work.  First she had to draw pictures of the things she had learned about India to create a design for a sari.  Then she had to copy this onto a T-shirt.  Emily is very proud of her tigers, elephants, caves and her flower.  What a beautiful piece of work!

Indian sunset

Look at this beautiful Indian sunset that Toby has created!  He has very cleverly overlapped tissue paper to make different colours and the effect is amazing.  What a fabulous picture to have on your wall!

Everything you need to know about pandas!

We have a very clever writer here who knows all about pandas.  Benji listened carefully to all the sounds in the words he wanted to write to explain what he has learned about pandas.  What super sentences!

Mrs Bennett was very impressed by Jake and Ffion's writing.  They have been learning about the Himalayas and wrote some super adjectives to describe the mountains.  What brilliant spelling!

Why did he huff and puff?

Here's a very clever lady!  Alice has written a letter to the Big Bad Wolf to find out why he was so mean.  Not only has she asked a question, but she has also used a question mark.  It is hard to believe she is still in Reception!  Great work, young lady!

Jack defeats the giant!

Lewis-Lloyd has shown how carefully he was listening to the story of Jack and the Beanstalk by the details he has included in his storyboard to retell what happened.  He is very proud that he did this work ALL BY HIMSELF, and so he should be!  Well done, Lewis-Lloyd!

Once upon a time ...

Rhys and Sam are looking very pleased with themselves because they have worked brilliantly together to type up Rhys' version of Little Red Riding Hood.  It is a gripping story about Archie, so see them if you need a bedtime story.  Great team work, gentlemen!

Shape superstars

Meet our shape superstars!  Even though Zane and Saule have only been coming to our school for few weeks they know the names of lots of shapes.  Zane made his shapes out of string, while Saule has made a beautiful flag.  It is wonderful that they are achievers already!

Good advice

Luke has shown how fantastic he is at using his phonics.  You can read every word he has written in this set of instructions about how to look after the book corner.  I think every classroom could do with a copy of this.  Great writing, Luke!
