Tall tales

It is hard to remember that Sam is in Year 2.  This amazing story based on 'The Way Back Home' contains words and phrases that we would praise Year 6 children for including.  In fact, Sam's story is so well written Mrs Campbell couldn't find a single wish!  Super work, Super Star!

All-rounder!

We are all very impressed by this all-rounder.  Dylan is a Special Achiever because of his positive attitude towards all his learning, all the staff with whom he works, his SATs and his friends.  Here's a young gentleman who is ready for high school.  Keep up the good work, Dylan!

Spring has sprung!

What a lot of writing Freddie has done - all by himself.  He had to describe a spring picture and he has listed all the things he could see.  He listened really carefully for all the sounds in the words he wanted to write and I could read every word.  Super work, Freddie!

Shark tales!

What an exciting beginning to a story Maisy has written!  She has used adjectives to make her writing really interesting and I am dying to know what the golden sharks are going to do.  Great work, Maisy – all by yourself!  What a superstar!

Hole in one!

Meet our new handyman!  Hamza did a fabulous job yesterday of helping Mrs Turberville to put Badgers' new basketball post together, working carefully, following directions and showing great patience.  What's next, Hamza?  A new playpen for your new baby brother?!

How to ...

Jack, Chloe, Samuel, Levi, Annie, Ocean, Darcie, Taylor and the rest of Deer class are on a mission to prove to me that they know how to look after goldfish and should keep some as class pets.  These instructions are so clearly laid out and detailed, and show how carefully the watched the video they were shown, I think I'm going to HAVE to say yes now!  Great work, folks!

Mixed media

These folks have been using paint, water, tissue paper, glue, oil pastels AND candles to create these magnificent pictures from the story 'The Way Back Home'.  Each one of these pictures has something amazing about it that makes stand out from all the rest.  Well done Lexi, Elle, Zach, Charlie, Isobel, Jack, Freddie, Riley, Ellie-May, Joshua, Maisie and Kai!

The Way Back Home

No wonder Abi is feeling so pleased with herself!  She started by thinking of some questions to ask Boy from 'The Way Back Home', next she chose the best to include in her letter and finally she improved the way the questions were asked.  This has resulted in a lovely letter than shows some good imagination.  Well done, Abi!

Dino drama

Jack, Sam and Sam have really enjoyed learning about dinosaurs and it shows in the fabulous stories they have written.  They have shown great imagination, used interesting vocabulary and very mature phrases to create atmosphere and drama.  These are super pieces of writing, lads!

Are you sitting comfortably?

Harvey couldn't fit more expression into his reading if he tried!  He always looks carefully at the punctuation so that he makes his reading make sense, emphasises words that need emphasising, and uses different voices for different characters.  It is an absolute pleasure listening to him read.

Amazing Area

Harry has shown himself to be a superstar when it comes to calculating area.  Not only was Miss Stannard impressed by the clever ways in which he worked with triangles and irregular shapes, she was also very pleased about how quickly he completed this piece of independent work.  Well done on being the first to finish, Harry!

Super shapes

Hedgehogs and Woodpeckers have been studying paintings by Kandinsky and have seen how he used different shapes.  Shai, Olly, Bethanne and Ebony have looked carefully at his pictures and produced these wonderful pieces of art work, choosing shapes to create interesting patterns.  What talent!
