The best bed time story in the world!

Charlie's story has got everything - drama, laughter, tears, suspense and a hero!  He has worked so hard to write and create this book, and what a special book he has to keep.  Mrs Lister and I REALLY enjoyed sharing this together with you, Charlie.  Well done you!

Swimming like a fish!

This little lady didn't like swimming nine months ago, but now she can get her feet off the floor and has masses of confidence.  She'll be swimming without floats before we know it.  What a brave lass you are, Alisha!

She's loving maths!

Olivia loves maths, and a flick through her maths book shows that to be true.  Her work is accurate and beautifully presented, and there is tick after tick after tick ...!  Super effort, missus!

Romulus & Remus

You can tell these people have listened really carefully to the story of Romulus and Remus because they have retold the story in such detail.  They have made sure that all the facts have been included in the right order so that it is easy to follow this complicated story.  Well done to Joshua, Maisie, Alfie, Alfie, Matthew and Jude!

Accurate reporting

In his excellent report about Boudicca's final battle, Igor has made some superb vocabulary choices and recorded the facts chronologically and in great detail.  What fantastic writing!

Delightful descriptions!

Here are two young ladies who have written a huge description of their chosen minibeast, listening carefully for all the phonemes in the amazing adjectives they chose to write.  Ebony and Caitlin's writing described their insects perfectly - well done both of them!

Adjectival phrases!

Are you absolutely sure you are in Year 1, Brandon?  The adjectives and adjectival phrases you have chosen to describe your dragonfly have impressed everyone in school, and we are sure that anyone who can use hyphens like you do should be in Year 6 at least!  Fabulous work, brainbox!

Marvellous multiplication

We have another mathematical genius here!  Aoife can talk very knowledgeably about how she can multiply two two-digit numbers together, and she gets it right every time!  Great thinking, missus!

Fabulous fact families!

Here are some clever cookies!  In their maths lessons, Charlie, Jack, Olly and Nikola have been finding all the members of fact families.  Give them two numbers to add and they can find the answer, and then show you all four addition and subtraction calculations you can make.  Maths superstars!

Beautiful manners

What a polite young lady we have here!  Not only was Mrs Davis very pleased that Florence listened so carefully and learned so much during Safety Week, she was very impressed with the way she put her hand up every time she wanted to share her ideas about keeping ourselves safe.  You are an example to us all, Florence!

Counting on

Lewis has been showing how fabulous he is at counting on in his head to work out some really tricky sums - and he is very proud of himself when he gets them correct.  Super thinking, Lewis!

Fire, Fire!

Amelia, Harrison and Chloeanne have been listening very carefully in their safety lessons this week, and have remembered lots of dangers relating to fire that they might find around them.  I am really pleased that they can talk about the ways in which they can keep themselves safe.  Great work!

WOW words!

In their excellent reports about Boudicca's final battle, James and Lexi have made some superb vocabulary choices and included lots of wow words that really capture the reader's attention.  What fantastic writing, folks!

e-Safety

My goodness, this lady knows how to keep herself safe on the internet!  The Infants have been learning all about safety this week and Ellie has written some excellent rules that we are going to share with the rest of the school.  Super writing, Ellie!

Didn't we have a lovely time ...?

Libby-Anne and Ellie are writing superstars!  Inspired by their trip to Redgrave and Lopham Fen, they have produced some fabulous writing about what they did and what they saw.  Fantastic sounding out, ladies!

Daily reading

Jack and Mrs Brown have been reading together every morning, and Jack's reading has come on in leaps and bounds.  It still isn't his favourite thing to do, but he is pleased that he finds it easier to read than he used to.  Your hard work has paid off, Jack!

Gone fishing!

Tommy had a wonderful time at Redgrave and Lopham Fen, learning all about habitats.  When he got back to school, he wrote a fabulous sentence about how he went fishing and caught a snail - and you could read every word he wrote.  Well done, Tommy!
