The first Olympics

Well, I've certainly learned a lot about the first Olympics from this fabulous research by Oscar.  He has included so many interesting and little-known facts in this beautifully presented piece of writing, no wonder he is a special achiever.  Super work, Oscar!

Out of this world

Not only has Samuel created a fantastic chalky space picture, he has also written some amazing sentences to annotate it.  He has chosen some very mature vocabulary and has even included some alliteration.  What an absolute genius!

Here comes the summer ...

When you look at this picture you can't help but feel summery!  Logan has included a beach hut, a beach ball, a sun lounger and a beautiful green sandcastle.  I hope the sun shines as brightly during our holidays!  Great work, Logan!

Natural History

Harry and Jack had an amazing time at the Natural History Museum last week, and this writing really shows how much they enjoyed their visit.  The way they have described their experience really shows how much they learned.  Fantastic work, chaps!

Welcome to Roydon!

We don't need to worry about passing on information to new Year 5 and 6 children starting at our school.  Natalie, Oliver, Ruby and Christian have prepared these fabulous leaflets to tell them everything they need to know about our school.  What a lot of details they have included!

Impressive improvement

Wow!  This is a most impressive improvement in understanding spelling, grammar and punctuation.  Morgan's latest assessment shows that he has learned a huge amount during this year and his hard work has really paid off.  Well done you!

Beautiful handwriting

Shai knows how important it is to write his letters correctly and that is why he has been trying so hard to practise his letter formation.  I am really pleased that it's not just on a handwriting sheet that he can show what he has learned, and he can write the 'a' in his name correctly, too.  Superb, Shai!

10, 20, 30 ...

Here are two gentlemen who have been working very hard to learn how to count in tens - and now they can.  Brilliant work, Lewis and Harrison!  What clever chaps you are and I'll be coming to see you next time I need some help!

What's in a name?

Libby has been practising and practising writing her name - and now she can do it all by herself!  We are all very proud of you and your hard work, Libby.  Clever lady!

Olympic swimming!

Lleyton has made it!  After months of practice and determination he has learned to swim and completed a whole length (25m).  Well done!

Sports Ambassadors

Ethan and Jenson have been such good ambassadors for our school.  They have played in football and cricket teams, and Jenson has represented the school in tag rugby while Ethan is a cross country runner.  They both always show excellent sportsmanship.

A tiny seed

What a very grown-up piece of work Ellie has produced!  Her beautiful picture shows what a seed needs to grow, and her careful spelling means you can read every word she has written.  Straight to Year 6!!

Someone I know!

Meet our new biographers - James, Marcy, Aidan, Shannon, Thomas and George!  They are Special Achievers because they have put a little extra effort into their research and presentation of these informative life stories about a member of their family.  Brilliant work!

Under the sea

Look at these works of art!  Honey, Charlie, Olivia, Erin, Fritha, Wiktoria, Rudi and Cara are really proud of the neatness of their sewing and the different effects they have created.  These beautiful designs need pride of place at home.  Well done, folks!

To be or not to be

Have you ever wondered whether Diss should have an airport?  Well, if you are undecided you only need to read these persuasive arguments and you will be convinced that it is a bad idea.  Well done Kai and Izzy for some very clever tricks including questions and exclamations.

Super shape poems

What amazing pieces of writing these ladies have produced.  After finding jellyfish facts, they have turned them into these stunning jellyfish shape poems.  What interesting and neat work, girls.  Superb!

Happy holidays

Archie, Harry Ivy and Preston were very busy over the holidays and have been very busy this week writing all about it.  They have listened really carefully for the sounds they can hear in the words they want to write and have recorded these using their phonics.  Fab work, people!

Olympic antics

What an exciting event the running was in Lorrimer's newspaper report.  He was so close to winning a gold medal, it was such a shame he fell over!  This is a great piece of writing that meets all the success criteria.  Well done you!
