Star struck!

If you had seen the Christmas performance this week you would never have guessed that these two superstars are in Reception.  We are all so proud of how grown up they were as they performed on stage in front of so many people.  Well done both of you!

Double superstar!

Charlie is a double superstar!  Now, not only can he write his name all by himself recognising all the letters, but he can also read five key words with no help at all.  We are sooooo pleased with how hard Charlie has been working. What a clever man!

Meet Grace Darling and her father!

Elle and Alfie had to write a first-hand account as either Grace Darling or her father describing the night they rescued all the stranded people from the sea.  Miss Willer was very pleased with the way they used interesting vocabulary to make their journals really gripping to read.

Once upon a Christmas!

Joshua, Charlie, Lucas, Bailee, Tiegan, Willow and Maisie have each made a real bound book that tells the Christmas story in words and pictures.  We are very impressed by how hard each of them worked and how much detail they included.  Fabulous work!

Most convincing!

Dylan and James have been putting into practice all they have learned about persuasive writing.  By including rhetorical questions, connectives such as 'however' and 'although', and percentages, they have each produced a very convincing letter that states their point of view.  Well done, lads!

Dramatic dramas!

Here are two people who have looked carefully at their success criteria and produced amazing pieces of writing that are packed with adverbs, adjectives, Powers of Three, and 'Polishing Pen perfections'.  Well done, Abi and Elliot, for such descriptive story endings!

Callum and Oliver have been practising their handwriting and Miss Willer thinks this piece of work is the neatest she has EVER seen them produce.  Well done lads for making sure all your letters were the same size!

Numicon geniuses!

Evie and Belle are such maths geniuses that are moving straight to Year 6!  They used Numicon very cleverly to show how to partition teen numbers into tens and units.  Mrs Clarke is very proud of them.  Well done, girls!

Sorry ...

We are so pleased to have Kai in our school again, and after only seven days he is already a Special Achiever!  He used his phonics so carefully I could read every word that he wrote in his sorry letter from Goldilocks.  What a great start, Kai!  Clever lad!

Superstar writers

These Rabbits certainly are star writers!  Their word choices and the way the structured phrases and sentences has created some of the most powerful descriptions I have read. Amazing work!  Well done Rosie, Blythe, Grace, Sam, Stevie, Xanthe and Millie! 

Mountain rescue

Miss Stannard is enormously impressed by Matthew's mountain rescue story.  His vocabulary choices really do make for a gripping adventure.  What an engaging piece of writing!

Words and pictures!

Willow has worked so hard to retell the story of the Three Little Pigs in pictures and in words.  Her spelling of the imaginative words she chose to use was excellent, especially as she did it all by herself. Well done, Willow!

Wanted!

Miss Souter was very impressed by Riley's 'Wanted' poster.  He used two adjectives to describe the wolf's teeth, and worked out how to spell the words he wanted to use all by himself.  Super work!

Super story-telling

A day in the life of a cat!

Erin certainly showed she has been listening carefully in English lessons when she wrote an account of a day in the life of a cat.  She included some great words and phrases, her account was really well structured.  Well done, Erin!

Exciting stories ...

Amber, Louise, Joe, Taylor, Sam, Jack, Zach and Kai have been very busy this morning writing and writing and writing and writing!  They have produced some amazingly exciting stories with fantastic storylines. No wonder Miss Sadd is so pleased with them!

King of the Clipboard!

Calel was the King of the Clipboard during the Gruffalo trip to High Lodge!  He kept count of everything we saw and worked really hard all day.

Callum was a real star during our Gruffalo trip to High Lodge.  He listened carefully, collected all the things and didn't give up even when it was tricky!

Clever Calculations

Rainbow Fish

Look at these beautiful Rainbow Fish made by Sophie, James, Levi, Shannon, Darcie, Esmee, Lacey, Blythe, Marcy and Jack!  After lots of fantastic vocabulary work, they used their designs to create really accurate 3-D felt beanbags.  Super work, all of you!

Erin has been very busy practising division.  The first question she worked out by drawing a picture, but then she got so good at them she worked them all out in her head.  What a superstar!
